▽ encompasses the genetic and historic compression of queerness on an anatomical level. The understanding of who our body belongs to, and how we build our bodies in a physical and metaphoric sense. Understanding the fractured, shell-like nature in which we constantly re-evaluate ourselves and how through community and culture this transition takes place. This piece is in collaboration with queer artist Belle Juhasz, whose work and friendship has not only encouraged the exploration of this piece, but has been the pillar in the sharing of knowledge of our queer experiences. ▽ was created through the National Choreographers Project for Emerging Artists by Dance Hub SA.
